This space will most frequently feature new music, but today it’s a blast from the past.
Considering that their last full album was 2007’s FiTi-recommended Heaven, it shouldn’t come as much of a shock that the Mobius Band announced last month that the group is officially on hiatus. They may have been the pioneers the Wesleyan University to Brooklyn indie-rock migration, but I trace my love for the Mobii back to an important middle stop in Western Mass. These were the days when the band could frequently be seen playing small gigs around Northampton as it honed its organic electro-pop sound. Mobius went on to tour with the likes of The National, Editors and Cut Copy, but never quite broke through into the national consciousness. In their honor, our first Foraging feature is the Heaven track “Hallie.”
According to their announcement, all three Mobii continue to make music…
